Estimates use initial planning allowances. Actual results vary with fabric thickness, heading and track hardware.

How to read your result

The track can extend past the window on both sides. When the curtain is open, the gathered fabric should sit as far outside the glass as the track extension allows. If the stack is wider than the extension, some glass may remain covered.

Curtain Stacking Calculator FAQs

What is curtain stack-back?

Stack-back is the space gathered curtain fabric occupies at the side of a window when the curtains are open. It affects how much glass remains visible.

What measurements do I need?

Enter the window opening width and height, total track width, and the track extensions beyond the window on the left and right. Use centimetres for all measurements.

Does fabric type affect the result?

Yes. Curtain heading, fabric thickness, lining, fullness and track hardware affect the amount of space the curtains occupy when gathered.

Are the results suitable for final production?

No. This calculator provides an initial planning estimate. Confirm the final stack-back with the selected fabric, heading tape, gliders and track system before ordering or production.
